I work in IT education, and I worked hiring people and managing people, and, in my experience sheesh, some people mustn’t stay away from it, they are not suitable, and they will never be.
Some people pick an IT career because they use facebook/twitter and some of them know how to assemble a computer, install and play games. Well, that ship already sailed. Now, it is base to know MS Office and Windows (or OSX or Linux/desktop) at least to even think about to pick one of those careers.
Anyways, in the past, technical education was expensive. Now it’s even for free but you get what you pay for.Free education usually are to lazy people that it’s unable to save money or make some personal effort and the IT market is about effort, sometimes we must work 24 hours (deadlines).
“When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”
An in my experience, the students that pay for it, they trend to be the best ones (and they find a job in a snap).
Anyways, I don’t say that it must be expensive (such as most universities).
