It sounds aficionado.

  • Firsts, its the deadline. If you are a professional but you are not who write the chart Gantt or build the programming (i.e. the Project Management), then it is not your responsibility. If the deadline is fulfilled or not, its not our responsibility.
  • Second, every seasoned professional know how to not to say “no”. For example, if a customer asks some unfeasible, then the answer is always “yes”, yes but… (more time, resources, money, etc.). If you want to look unprofessional, then you most likely answer with a no. Usually, no means = I am useless for this job.
  • A seasoned professional knows how to deal, and it includes deadlines.
  • Third, your start mentioning a “code of conduct”. WTF dude?. I have worked in a multi cultural companies, and we (as a member of the team) we adapt to the customers, not the opposite, and we usually DON’T GIVE A CRAP about the personal belief or feeling of the team. A team member is useful or useless, and nothing else matters. If the customers asks a team composed by some specific sex, race, experience or age, we are not who do the call and we would be incredibly stupid to reject a customer for our personal believes. For example, I worked with a customer that required a team of women and it is sexist. However, the customer has a valid reason, so we comply.
